has been developed.

The „PLAY BOX-X" enables the owner of a „PlayStation" together with its integrated CD-player to use the game console also away from home. Wherever one finds a 12-V power outlet – i.e. in an automobile, a boat and a camper - the „Playstation" can be easily operated. The 5.6" Mitac LCD monitor is mounted to the headrest of any automobile by means of a universal fastening kit, can be taken off or moved to a different vehicle by "do-it-yourself" within just a few minutes. The smart setup of the mechanical attachment allows an easy adjustment of the screen in all directions to suit every angle of viewing or any body size. As the screen can be removed of within seconds, possible thieves are not encouraged to follow their trade.

A black vinyl pouch protects the „PlayStation" against possible damages. An optional stand with an integrated suction cup facilitates the mounting on any other flat surfaces found i.e. in a camper or on a boat.

The electronic module – powered by the cigarette lighter or a power plug – does not only produce the necessary voltage to run the „Playstation", but also has an integrated amplifier to connect two headsets and two LCD screens. This way, the user does not bother the environment with unwanted noise emissions.

The „PLAY BOX-X" has been conceived as a low cost accessory for all „PlayStation’s" and patents are applied for. The retail price for the complete package is estimated to be below DM 1'000.- (app. US$ 500.-), the market introduction has been set for the early summer of this year.

With almost 400'000 installed consoles since September 1995 in Switzerland and in excess than 70 millions worldwide since December 1994, the "PlayStation" is the most successful video game console in history. More than 1’000 games are currently offered for the "PlayStation". For any age or any interest, everyone can find a suitable game. All these elements make the "Playstation" the ultimate entertainment product, which has its place next to the VCR and hi-fi system also in every living room.
